Anesthesia and Reanimation

One of the most important issues is anesthesia to increase the physical comfort of our cat during and after the operation. The mandatory conditions for safety sleeping during operation are being stres-free, blood values to be suitable for anesthesia, anesthesia room conditions and anesthesia methods. We implement anesthesie to the cats as solid and gas by professional team using special devices in the private rooms that are not-allowed dogs. The vital findings are followed by patient monitoring during the operation. Safe anesthesia under the appropriate conditions is applied with the latest system devices in our hospital to deliver healthy entrusted children to you.

Neurology and Neurosurgery

Neurological diseases are also frequently encountered in cats as itS in people. The diagnosis and treatment of nervous system diseases is very difficult. We can count the reasons of neurological diseases as vascular malformation, viral, bacterial and parasitery agents, hormonal causalities, trauma, birth defects and deformations along the spinal canal. We use right neurological examination, blood biochemistry values, assessment of cerebrospinal fluid, X-ray findings and MR (magnetic resonance) applications, which are advanced imaging techniques for this purpose. After neurological eximination if there is no treatment option other than operation we decide to operate the patients using succesfull surgical methods in our surgery room equipped with latest technology.

Laser Therapy

Laser is monochromatic and violent beam of rays. When this beam is given in the appropriate wavelength and heat, it gives very successful results in the target and the tissues to be treated. Painless and easy-to-apply laser therapy for our cats gives fast results at the same time. We protect our children against side effects because it’s externally and drug-free application. This treatment method creates an anti-inflammatory effect in the area of use, increases blood flow in the veins and stimulates neural functions.

Cryotherapy is one of the methods that eliminate to skin and subcutaneous tumors, which occur in cats as well as every living creatures, by applying low temperatures and without surgical intervention requirement. Because the procedure is painless, it is often the preferred method and does not involve anesthesia risks and stress. We increase the quality of life of your cat that you trust in our health in our hospital and add new ones to your cats’ happy days with this method.

Blood Transfusion

The blood, which is part of the circulatory system of blood vessels and hear, is red colored fluid circulating in arteries, venules and the capillaries. The most important role of blood is to carry oxygen and nutrients to tissues and organs and to remove waste substances such as carbon dioxide. Average of 5 kg of cat has 300 ml of blood. Blood consists of four components; red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and thrombocytes.

Blood transfusions are necessary to save the life of the cat in diseases such as anemia, metabolic diseases, renal and hepatic insufficiency, trauma, cancer, which are often seen in cats as in humans.

There are three genetically determined blood groups in the cats. Type A is the most common group, Type B is less common - it is found in some types of purebred cats only - , AB is extremely rare. Blood groups are determined by the shape of the antigens on the surface of the red blood cells. So, If you have a cat with A blood group and blood group B is bleeding, the naturally occurring antibodies in the blood of the recipient will cause the reaction due to the type B antigens in the red blood cells of the donor's blood.

This may cause life-threatening situations.

For this reason, blood of donor and recipient’s blood must be subjected to special procedures before blood transfusion. The bloods taken from the cats is examined macroscopically and microscopically and it is checked whether a reaction has developed or not before blood transfusion in our hospital. First of all, donor cat is thoroughly examined. Donor cat; should be at least 4.5 to 5 kgs which is not obese. Donor cat must be neither very young nor very old. Its annual vaccinations and parasitic treatments should be made on time, it has no without chronic disease. The blood samples taken from the donor cat that provides the above conditions are examined. First, it is checked whether the blood groups match or not. Afterwards, the levels of erythrocyte, hematocrit and hemoglobin in the blood of donor cat are examined. And the blood is examined for viral diseases and blood parasites in order not to be infected the blood receiver cat with municipal disease. Donor cat’s municipal liver and kidney function tests must be performed because blood transfusion will be accompanied by sedation or anesthesia.

It is vital to administer intravenous fluid fortification instead of receiving blood to keep stabil blood pressure and continuity of circulation of donor cat during and after transfusion procedure. Thus, it is aimed to avoid possible complications of blood transfusion. Receiving blood is appropriately given to the recipient cat. Special medicines must be administered to recipient cat in order to avoid the reactions that may occur during the blood transfusion.

Blood transfusion applications can be applied routinely for many years. It should not be forgotten that this application must be done by a trained and experienced team. Because blood is life.
